The improvement of diabetes management one of the most important functions of public health workers, diabetes is a chronic disease is known as a disorder in the amount and concentration of sugar in the blood, which is above normal (110 - 70 MG / DL) and that happened; because of the partial or absolute deficiency of insulin, diabetes is divided into two main types,   type 1 diabetes mellitus and type 2 diabetes mellitus, where the pancreas is still functioning but not effectively, this means that the pancreas is unable to effectively convert glucose effectively, which leads to remain excessive proportion  of glucose in the blood.

Objectives and target group

How can diabetes management be improved?

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is managed by changing the lifestyle, including a healthy diet, practicing sport regularly and monitoring blood sugar levels, so eating healthy food reduces body weight, in addition to reducing glucose levels in the blood and practicing sport helps insulin to work more effectively, on the other hand, lowers of blood pressure and reduces the risk of heart disease.

In order to improve the management of diabetes, the patient should have periodic blood glucose monitoring tests, to see if the treatment is useful in lowering blood sugar levels and whether there is a need to adjust the treatment, some of the periodic tests: (Blood analysis or urine test). If the results of the analysis are positive for the presence of sugar, these indicate that the concentration of sugar in the blood is higher than 180 MG / DL, the third test is hemoglobin, is a procedure that takes place every three months from the date of onset of the disease, the aim of this procedure is to determine the extent of treatment adjustment for glucose (Hemoglobin is 7% or less, indicates how successful diabetes management is).
